Maybe it becomes clearer that unhelpful coping mechanisms really do not stand up to the strain of prolonged stress and uncertainty.
The support of a counsellor can help make sense of things and develop healthy coping strategies which promote resilience, adaptability and a positive state of mental health.

Just as we can sustain physical injury, sometimes our emotional wellbeing can be affected by events and circumstances. My aim as a Humanistic Integrative counsellor and CBT therapist is to provide you with the space and time to work through whatever is troubling you, within a confidential and respectful environment and without judgement. Together we can work to help you find solutions and coping strategies to restore yourself to a place of positive emotional health.

I offer a free initial telephone consultation where we can discuss your particular needs. You can get to know me a bit more, learn about how I can support you and make an informed decision about whether or not you would like me to support you in therapy.
During our first session, we would establish a mutually agreed contract for our work together. This will include an indication of how many sessions may be recommended based upon your desired outcomes. This counselling contract is flexible and regularly reviewed during our work together. Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place at the same time each week, although I am also able to be flexible to your schedule where required.
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of helping you to reach your desired goals.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I work within their Ethical Framework. In my work with you I place great importance on respecting your autonomy and confidentiality, your right to be treated with respect and with your wellbeing as my highest priority. I commit to work with integrity, professionalism and sincerity. I also hold an appropriate level of insurance, available to view upon request.
I offer counselling and CBT therapy out of locations in Southbourne and Winton; these are in easy reach of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch. However face to face sessions are not currently available due to the Coronavirus lockdown. Face to face sessions will resume in due course.
I also offer online and telephone counselling for those who are unable or prefer not to access face to face therapy.
Introductory telephone consultation (upto 30 minutes) - Free
Face to face counselling/therapy - individual 50 minutes session - £50
Online/Telephone counselling/therapy - individual 50 minute session - £45

Payments are accepted by internet banking payment to be cleared prior to the session.
I respond to enquiries within 48 hours. If you have emailed and have not received a reply, please check your junk mail.
Sometimes it is unavoidable that you may need to cancel or change a session. Where more than 24 hours notice is provided, you will not have to pay for the session. Under 24 hours notice, the session is payable in full. Where possible, in either circumstance, I will always endeavour to accommodate a different day/time for that week if desired.
